"Longest night without treatment"

About: DHU Healthcare CIC / NHS 111 Heartlands Hospital / Accident and emergency West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a service user),

I had very strong abdominal pain which is worsening now, I called 111 they sent ambulance out and after few checks they took me to heartland hospital emergency department, one more ECG check and blood test then waited until 8.30 in the morning, then without seen a doctor or any explanation I was sent to next door they called gp- hospital.

Dr had no clue and they just give some painkillers and send home, before I come home I went back to emergency department told I’m confused and my stomach pain increased. I demanded to see a doctor or at least explain to me what happened and why I have waited for now 12 hours, sorry you Re-register yourself and wait we can see you but don’t know when I told. I left hospital and went home, my chest and stomach pains had increase, but don’t what to do and where to go

Extremely disappointed

Good morning, Awat

Having read your comments regarding your recent contact and experience with both WMAS and at Heartlands Hospital, I believe you initially contacted the NHS111 service provided by DHU Health Care CIC, and an ambulance was arranged.

We always aim to provide the best service and care possible for our patients.

I do hope that despite your poor experience and disappointment you have now received the care and treatment you required and are starting to feel better and are on the road to recovery. However, if you have concerns regarding your contact with the NHS111 service, please e-mail me at dhu.patient-experience@nhs.net.

Best wishes,

Judith Brown

Patient Engagement, Experience & Inclusion Lead and AIS Champion (DHU Health Care)
