Pain from sciatic was like nothing I had experienced before. Really inhibited walking and seemed to be worse at nighttime.
I was quickly referred to Tommy in Portadown Health Centre. He really listened to me and showed me a few exercise techniques to alleviate pain. He explained how sciatic happened and what was happening to me.
I was referred to CAH Physio Dept for a six week programme.
James took the training programme. The objective was to use exercise as a pain management technique. There were 4 other people on the programme, all with different conditions. Exercises were explained, there were different levels to chose and exercises tailored to specific conditions. I found it so helpful, but like all exercise once a week is not enough.
I use the exercises on a daily basis and have started Couch to 5k (again).
I still get sciatic nerve pain but it never gets to the level it was.
I am very grateful to Tommy and James and all the staff at CAH.
Many, many thanks
