"Ward 23 Orthopedics"

About: Trauma & Orthopaedics / Ward 23

(as a service user),

I was admitted to hospital after I had a fall at home resulting in a fracture in my right ankle,

The staff that I met during my brief stay were absolutely fantastic. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care I received prior to my operation and the attention after. The ward is extremely busy but I never felt that they never had time to help me with anything, nothing was ever a bother. I feel the staff need to be appreciated for what they do and the ward recognised.

I met a nurse Anna who was the most friendly bubbly and kind person I’ve came across, she was so attentive and looked after me so well. Anna made me feel so calm and all my worries and anixieties prior to the operation left me. She is an amazing nurse and I will never forget how she made me feel.

I met another nurse Amanda who was looking after me during the night, she checked on me regular she helped me get changed into my own clothes again and helped me to get freshened up after coming back from theatre. She gave me tea and toast ( the best tea and toast I’ve ever had) as I had been fasting all day and made sure my pain was under control. I honestly felt so safe and at ease as I am normally quite anxious and have never been in a hospital setting much before this admission. Amanda is assest to the ward and I honestly can’t thank her enough.

I met a lot of great staff whose name I cannot remember, I can’t thank the ward enough and the staff are fantastic. For such a busy setting the care is at a very high standard and everyone is angels who I will be forever grateful too.
