"Such a valuable service"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Ward 11 (Rheumatology)

(as the patient),

I’ve had a bad flare up and had phoned the rheumatology helpline in March. I was so delighted with the support that I left feedback on Care Opinion.

My swollen hands weren’t responding so I had to phone again at the end of April. For the second time I was so well looked after and cared for.

A huge thank you to Ruth who listened, empathised and did exactly what she said she was going to do. Thanks to the efficiency and speed of response, within a week I had usable hands. I can build Lego, I can garden, I can cook. Sadly I can also do housework; I was enjoying ignoring that!

This is such a valuable service and it gives great reassurance and confidence. I really appreciate how well I was looked after. The impact on me has been incredible and I am so happy to have working hands. Thank you to the rheumatology team

Hello again Grey Haired Lady

Thank you for once more taking the time to share the story of your experience and recognise those who have come to your aid.

It is really great to hear how well the rheumatology team at Ulster Hospital have looked after you at each time of asking.

I have shared your positive feedback to Ruth and the team who really appreciate your kind words.

I appreciate that your escape from housework wasn't quite the swell time you were looking for and also that the bittersweet victory of being able to fit back into your marigolds was double-edged.

Great to hear that the treatment and care provided has supported your quality of life in getting you back to enjoying your interests.

Enjoyment of putting all of those little coloured pieces together isn't something you want to lego of anytime soon and I'm sure that not being able to whip up culinary delights was hard to swallow for you. As the good weather is coming upon us, please be sure to spend more time with the marigolds in the garden than with those in the kitchen.

Wishing you only the best

Conor
