"The atmosphere of care they create is exceptional"

About: Western General Hospital / Haematology

(as a service user),

I have been receiving venesections for Ferroprotin Disease from Ward 7 (originally Ward 1) almost every two weeks for about 2.5 years. The nurses on the ward make it such a welcoming place and the atmosphere of care they create is exceptional. They are always busy caring for patients, but still make time to have a chat and a laugh, and provide tea and biscuits. The venesections have been performed with exceptional skill and their organization in terms of arranging appointments is great. All the nurses I have met have been extremely professional but I would particularly like to pay tribute to Jenny who has performed most of my venesections, who is incredibly professional but also a very lovely and funny person. Thank you so much for you care.

Dear Venesection patient,

Thank you so much for providing this lovely feedback. It is an exceptionally busy unit and it is great to hear that they are getting it right for you. We will share this message with the team and with Jenny.

Kind wishes

Claire
