"No sign of an appointment"

About: Healthharmonie Limited

(as a relative),

During a routine sight test, my husband was found to have a BRVO in his right eye, and the optometrist notified the GP that they should send an urgent referral for ophthalmological assessment. The letter he subsequently received told him to wait for two weeks, and then phone HealthHarmonie Triage if he had not been contacted.

I called the number the next day, to be told my husband's details were not yet on their database, and I would be phoned in the next 5 days when the referral had been processed.

Today, more than 3 weeks after the initial advice for an urgent referral, we have still heard nothing - by letter or phone - of an appointment.

On their website, HealthHarmonie state that ophthalmology patients, once referred, are seen within 4-5 weeks, but this time is rapidly approaching with no sign of an appointment.

It is a worrying time when we are told the referral is urgent, but cannot find out how serious a problem it is, especially with something as vital as sight.
