"Waiting times at Endometriosis Centre"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / General surgery (Wards 9a, 9b, 9c & 9d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as the patient),

I have been on the waiting list since November 2022 for a full Hysterectomy after being diagnosed with DIE (deeply infiltrating endometriosis) and Adenomyosis.

I had an appointment with the pain management nurse and was informed that because I am on the list for the colorectal surgeon as well as the Endo specialist I will not get my operation in 2023 and most likely not 2024 either.

I was also informed that the specialist team are there every day but are not allowed to carry out more than 1 operation per month. I find this totally disgusting. Meanwhile women like myself are being left to deal with a debilitating condition on a daily basis. There has been no mention of any more scans to make sure that the Endo has not spread any.

I am not getting at the staff at the Endo clinic within the QEUH as the faults are not down to them. At the end of the day, they are just trying to carry out their job on a daily basis.
