"Kind and attentive staff"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a service user),

Can’t thank the ward staff enough at Wd17 for looking after my Mum recently. Staff were very kind and attentive, especially when she was very confused following an infection. Thank you!

We did wait a number of hours in A&E in a corridor (to be expected) however I would suggest during these long waiting times that patients are atleast offered some fluids and perhaps a snack, maybe change position when sitting in wheelchairs for long periods etc.

Dear A Nurses Experience,

Thank you for your feedback on your recent experience in A&E and ward 17 at University Hospital Monklands.

I am delighted you and your mum experienced and witnessed the extraordinary care our busy teams aim to deliver every day in ward 17 and that she was well looked after by our kind and attentive team. It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and feel valued It will be a pleasure to share your feedback and thanks with the team.

I am sorry to hear you had a long wait for A&E and that you were not offered fluids or a snack. I will certainly pass this onto the department who may be able to offer fluids (I don't believe that snacks would be possible) to those waiting for prolonged periods going forward.

I hope your mum is recovering well.

Kind Regards
