"My mobile MRI"

About: Raigmore Hospital / General Surgery Raigmore Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

I was given an urgent referral by my GP in July 2022 due to stomach pains. In October I had a telephone appointment with a consultant who sent me for an ultrasound. I was diagnosed with gallstones.

In December I was sent a letter saying I needed an MRI. Mid April I was sent a letter saying to book a MRI giving me a number to ring. It is nearly impossible to get through as they are always extremely busy and ask you to hang up and try again later. Nearly 9months from an urgent referral nothing has actually been done to alleviate my pain.

The booing service is abysmal. The MRI was very professional and well done.

Dear Barry the beard,

I am very sorry to hear of your recent experiences booking an MRI appointment, this is not the service we strive for our patients. The Team have been extremely short staffed, which had led to unfortunately lengthy phone delays for patients.

We are hoping to have a longer term solution in place shortly.

I appreciate your feedback, and will pass onwards to the team so we can inform future discussions about our service.
