"Treated with compassion and professionalism"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cancer Services (Medical Oncology)

(as the patient),

Was admitted to Ward 114 via chemo helpline and ANP assessment with Neutropaenic sepsis. I cannot thank the  staff enough on my journey through chemo helpline to my six day admission to ward. I was treated with compassion, professionalism and staff could not do enough for me -  nursing, medical and domestic team. Special mention to SN Caitlyn and SN Debbie for their care and also Friends of Anchor team who came round with care packages, newspapers, lovely chat and even got an amazing massage.

I am 6 months in on my stage 4 ovarian cancer journey and about to have my debulking surgery in a couple of weeks .

Dear Mcmabel

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such positive feedback from your recent admission to ward 114. It is never easy having to come into hospital and am so pleased you were made to feel at ease by all the teams involved in your care while on the ward. I will share your kind words with my colleagues within the ANP team, Ward 114 nursing team and also the Friends of Anchor staff we working closely with.

Wishing you all the very best with your planned surgery and and recovery thereafter.

Dear Mccmabel

Thank you for taking the time to post such positive comments about the care you received in ward 114 at what must have been a very stressful time for you and your family. We are very fortunate to work with such caring and compassionate staff who do a brilliant job everyday.

Receiving positive feedback from patients is a real morale boost for staff, therefore, I have forwarded your comments to the senior charge nurse, medical staff, domestic manager and Friends of Anchor and asked that it be shared with the wider team including the staff named on your post.

I hope that the next phase of your treatment goes well and sincerely thank you again for your positive comments

Kindest regards

Yvonne Wright
