"I was seen immediately and received good care"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

After falling down stairs in the night, I was taken to Tameside A&E by ambulance.

I was seen immediately and great care was taken because of concerns about a possible neck injury.

(the most embarrassing was when it was decided they needed the "heavy squad" to turn me over so that the doctor could examine my spine)

Fortunately there was no major damage and I was glad to be quickly discharged. It was only two days later that I found that I had cracked a rib. I hadn't complained of chest pains at the hospital (everything hurt! ) and I am glad that I wasn't held in A&E for endless tests or Xrays.

I'm submitting this just to confirm that some people have good experiences of Tameside A&E
