"I felt cared for and that I was not alone"

About: Gynaecology / Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic

(as a service user),

After finding out at my 12-week scan that my pregnancy was a miscarriage, I was contacted by the team straight away.

From the first phone contact, I felt cared for and that I was not alone.

I went in to see the midwife, Sarah, initially to discuss options for managing the miscarriage and was so grateful for how kind and supportive she was. I felt very vulnerable and did not know what the right decision was. I felt like she gave me  the time to talk about my feelings, really listened to me, and gave me all the right information to make a decision on the best way to manage the miscarriage.  I changed my mind and was made to feel like it was no trouble.

Everything was organised with no stress for me and I was told about information online from miscarriage association, which helped me to figure things out after I’d had the physical procedure and was still recovering emotionally.

I cannot thank Sarah and the team enough for their compassionate care and help at a very sad time.
