"Our stay on the children ward"

(as a parent/guardian),

My son is 17 weeks old and became very ill we had been rushed in by ambulance he had bronchitis. He had chest X-rays and he also had pneumonia he was very poorly we stayed for 11 nights he needed oxygen, was on the vaperpherm. He also had to have antibiotics he has now recovered and would like to thank everyone on the Children ward that helped my son recover they were all amazing. Also the cleaners did amazing keeping the ward clean all the staff was so caring and reassuring and kept me updated thank you to everyone

My name is Dr Holly and I help respond to feedback given by patients and their families.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and your thanks. I am very happy to hear you received all the kindness, care and reassurance you needed from our staff members. I am also extremely pleased you were consistently informed about your son’s progress throughout his admission. We really do understand the importance of providing consistent clear communication and supportive care during the stressful times when your little ones become ill and needing hospital care. I very much hope your son is now fully recovered!

I also thank you for kindly acknowledging the hard work the Cleaning staff provide to keep our department clean and tidy. They are highly valued members of staff in our Children’s unit.

I will pass on your lovely comments to all the staff who looked after your son and the whole of the Children’s unit. I will also ensure your kind words are shared with the Cleaning staff. I am in no doubt everyone will be delighted and hugely grateful for your feedback and thanks.
