"Trying to speak to a GP"

About: General practices in Fife

(as a service user),

Had Bloods done in March. Result was seemingly satisfactory, but I wanted to speak to GP. The receptionist said I would have to call back to make appointment.

I've been trying almost daily, and eventually got through this morning - only to eventually get through and be told they were only seeing urgent cases today. If it wasn't urgent I need to phone tomorrow and then I was swiftly hung up on.

Good afternoon

My name is Sam Clarke and I am the Service Manager for Primary and Preventative care. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on care opinion.

I was very sorry to read about your recent experience with your GP practice and that it was not as you expected. I also understand you must have felt frustrated and disappointed with your experience. I would like to reassure you that we strive to provide patient-centred care tailored to individual needs.

If you are in agreement I could look into this further for you with your GP practice. In order fully understand your experience I would need some more details. If you would like me to pass on your details to the practice, please contact me directly. My email address is Samantha.keane@nhs.scot.

Best wishes

Sam
