"All the staff have been brilliant"

When I first arrived at the Dame Carol Detox Service; two minutes of sitting down , I rang and asked my family to come and get me as I was anxious.  In my head I needed help, so I decided to stay.  Just felt lost as so far away from home, so thought I need to give it my best shot. 

Since being here, I have attended all the groups and tried to fit in with everyone.  I wasn't sure about the meditation at first, but after a couple of days, once I got into it, I found it worked and was useful.  I will continue to do this when I get home.

I felt it was important to attend all the groups as this forms part of my recovery. 

A special shout out to Dr Gale who was very supportive and made me laugh.  All the staff have been brilliant. 

The quizzes were good fun.  The meetings from CA and NA were useful.   I really enjoyed the whole experience.  I even requested to stay a bit longer to get my inside sorted out.    I wasn't ready to go home.  Now I have had some extra time, I feel ready to go home tomorrow.
