"Kind and understanding staff"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Gynaecology Clinic

(as the patient),

I attended Stobhill hospital for a colposcopy. When my appointment letter came through, and I saw it was a male Dr I was really hesitant to attend and was really worried due to a previous traumatic experience with male consultants when having an intimate procedure performed. Thankfully, Dr Farquharson and Annemarie were amazing. They were kind, understanding, patient, made me feel comfortable and at ease. The procedure was done as gently as it could have been done and I felt safe having it performed by Dr Farquharson. The procedure was explained to me along the way, I was asked if I wanted to look at the video screen to see what was happening while being given an explanation of everything. I never mentioned my previous traumatic experience so I know they didn't go out their way to make me feel comfortable but that is just their way with patients in general.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

Thank you very much for commenting on how well the Colposcopy team met your needs during your recent episode of care at the New Stobhill Hospital.

I have shared your feedback with Dr Farquharson, Annemarie and all the staff. They are delighted to receive this.

I hope you are doing well at this time and recovered well from your procedure.
