"Fall from a skateboard"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Antrim Area Hospital / X-Ray Department

(as a service user),

I wanted to show my brother how to use his new skateboard but I went down a ramp which was too high and fell onto my wrist and leg. It was very sore and I was very scared. Mum said I needed have an X ray at the hospital.

There were a lot of people there and I was scared, but I met a lovely nurse called Claire and she checked my wrist and made me smile. She also talked to my mum and my brother.

The man who took my X ray was really quick and he showed me what to do - it wasn't as scary as I thought. Then Claire said I could see my bones which was brilliant. I didn't break anything but now I know if I ever have to go back it is not scary and if Claire is there I would be very happy.

dear our story

thank you for your kind feedback on your visit to Antrim ED. I know Claire will be delighted that you had a good visit with ourselves and I will ensure I pass this onto her.

I hope you are continuing to recover, and you are back out on your skateboard (safely of course)

Mark
