"Alcohol Detoxification"

Upon my arrival to Dame Carol Detox Service, I was apprehensive and nervous; as soon as I arrived I was made to feel welcomed.

I felt like I was going to hide in my room at first, then I got speaking to other patients which made me feel at ease.    This has improved my confidence.

I have been to the majority of meetings which was really interesting.   I wasn't sure on meditation at first but now I find it really relaxing.  I will continue with this when I leave. 

I never use to eat before I arrived, now I am eating 3 good meals a day.

I had one day where I had cravings for alcohol, since then I have had nothing, the medication has been really useful. 

I have really enjoyed myself here.  I have kept myself busy with helping to clear up.  I have also made a lot of new friends in the same position as myself.   I highly recommend this service.  All the staff have been fantastic. 

I am going to seek voluntary work with Inclusion so I can help others in similar positions to me.  I hope this to be a fresh new start in my life.
