"Consistency of care"

About: Care at home / Irvine and Kilwinning

(as a relative),

My mum has carers in 4 times a day. This works really well with her two usual carers as they know her routine, likes, dislikes. This is really good as my mum has dementia and likes routine.

Unfortunately when any of the usual carers are off this just falls to pieces. She gets carers who have never been in before and sometimes 4 different carers a day. The times can also be diffent and this causes my mum to be stressed and anxious. Why can't NAC not have a hand over with the replacement carer coming on shift and try to keep the consistency of the same carer for the four visits a day and the four days normal carer is off.

Dear April38,

I am pleased to hear that the care being provided by mums usual carers is working well, however I am sorry to hear that you feel there has been inconsistency of care at times when these carers are off, to enable us to look further into the matter I would be obliged if you could contact 01294 310222 and provide further information.
