"Alcohol Detoxification"

During my stay at Dame Carol Detoxification unit, I have got better both physically and mentally.  My mind is much clearer, I am a little bit sad but I am getting there. I just want to be happy again and be a part of society. 

Before I isolated myself by drinking alcohol every day, now I want to be part of the community and know about the world. This has helped me at the Detox centre by mixing with other patients.   

I am no longer getting the shakes which I really appreciate.  I am no longer sweating either. I really appreciate the treatment given to me. I really like the staff, they are all wonderful and caring.  It is nice to see smiles and that people care. Most importantly, I wasn't judged, as I had an illness. 

 

One nurse could be more positive because they came across negative sometimes.  All the other staff are smiley, all ways happy to see us and can't do enough for us.
