"Kindness, confidence and competence"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Breast Services

(as a service user),

After a very difficult and incredibly painful start to breastfeeding, involving cracked nipples, blocked ducts, mastitis and an abscess, no real progress was made until I was seen at the breast clinic. Their kindness, confidence and competence meant that after two weeks of seeing them, all issues had almost resolved and I am now continuing to breastfeed pain-free. From the moment I was welcomed at reception, to the healthcare support workers, nurses and medical staff, everyone was so kind and supportive.

Dear PatientNov21

Thank you very much for your kind words for the teams who helped you through to a successful breastfeeding journey. Well done to you for persevering. (I know from personal experience how easy it can be to give up).

I have shared this with both the breast clinic and the infant feeding teams as we couldn’t make up our minds which you had visited. Positive feedback has such a big influence on staff morale all and we love hearing back from happy patients.

I hope you and your wee one are keeping well.

Take care,

Kirsten
