"Ward 2 - Hairmyres Hospital"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Acute Medical Receiving Unit (AMRU) University Hospital Hairmyres / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 12)

(as a relative),

My Mother was admitted to Ward 2 at Hairmyres  March pending further admission to Ward 12 due to respiratory / lung infection.

This was is extremely busy and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Nurses who took time to ensure my Mother was comfortable, had access to her nebuliser and attended to her when she required support, drinks and at times just to offer reassurance.

I would like to extend my thanks to the Nursing Guide Nurse Karen who supported my Mother and both my Sister and I with providing updates in terms of treatment, availability within ward 12 and providing a confidence with my Mother that made her feel at ease within the Ward.

Without Nursing staff that provide this level of attentive car our NHS would not be held in as high regards.

My Mother is now Home after period of 11 nights in Hairmyres.  She has received appropriate treatment, medications and ongoing support.  Hopefully through time she will be able to remain at home with medication plan and live her life as independent as possible!

Thanks again for the support and confidence we have in the NHS! :)

Dear Andqc73,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about recent experience at AMRU and Respiratory Medicine at University Hospital Hairmyres. I am sorry to hear of your mother's lung infection. This must have been a worrying time for you, your sister and your mother.

I am delighted you experienced and witnessed the extraordinary care our friendly teams aim to deliver every day, particularly the support and updates from Nurse Karen. Your feedback will give the team a much needed boost and I will be sure to feed this back to them.

I am glad your mother is well enough now to be at home and I hope she continues to feel better.

Kind regards,

Jenni
