"Very poor service"

About: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust / Adult Mental Health - Oxfordshire

(as a service user),

I've been under the Adult Mental Health Team in Oxford for about a year now and consequently my mental health has significantly deteriorated. I get no support from the team, I have rung them in crisis a few times and been told the 'team coordinator' will ring me back but they never do. I had a care coordinator who wasn't very good, only stayed a few months and I only saw them three times,  and they would only stay for 15 minutes. I have a consultant psychiatrist who I rarely see who I find insensitive and doesn't treat me like a human being. I have called and emailed in desperation for help but they don't reply or get back to you.  I find them very uncaring.

I understand there are not enough staff and staff retention is very bad but they have totally forgotten how to treat the patients under them. I don't know what the point of the service is as they offer me nothing. I have been asking for help now for months and months but it just goes unheard. No-one calls you back or responds to an email. I have no idea how I am ever going to get any better without any support. I feel really let down by this service. I feel like I'm at my wits end with this team.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback relating to the service you have received from your local Adult Mental Health Team, I am really sorry to read that this has been your experience.

We do really want to hear about all experiences of our Trust, both good and bad so that we can address any concerns and improve our services. We would welcome you contacting our PALS team (Patient Advice & Liaison Service) so we can look into your concerns, either via email- PALS@oxfordhealth.nhs.uk or on our Freephone number- 0800 328 7971.

Many thanks,

Laura Lewis-Robinson
