I was in the hospital 3 years ago because I suffered from Mental health issues,
I was transferred to Ward 8 because of a shortage of beds, I should not have been put in that ward, basically because I found out that the staff does not have a clue how to treat people who suffer from mental health conditions.
All the staff did their very best to stay well away from me, I was not hostile in any way, they just seemed like they were not interested in talking or listening to me.
I take antidepressant medication and blood pressure pills, and at no point was I given any medication while I was in there for 7 days.
So basically I went cold turkey for 7 days, naturally, I became paranoid and I was very fearful for my safety, I needed reassurance, but got nothing.
The staff completely overreacted and I ended up being manhandled by staff, pinned down on the floor by at least 5 people, and then taken away by police.
Someone needs to take a good look at the staff in Ward 8 because they have no care for the patients and are completely clueless when it comes to helping people with mental health issues.
Staff help staff, security helps the staff, and police help the security and staff, but who helps the patient, the answer is nobody, because when you have mental health problems nobody listens to you, the staff must be in the right, which is not always true.
I went into the hospital after suffering from Trauma and left with even more trauma.
"I should not have been put in that ward"
