"Assistance with a fall."

About: Urgent Community Response / Mid Notts Urgent Community Response Team

(as a staff member),

As a community staff nurse, I attended a routine visit for PM insulin administration and found the patient laying on the floor. It soon became clear that I would not be able to assist the patient to stand on my own. I utilised his lifeline, and was advised that the Urgent Response Team would attend to assist. I was a little concerned as to how long this would take, as the patient lives alone and I obviously did not want to leave him.

The team arrived super quickly and their knowledge and professionalism was outstanding. We were able to get the patient to stand, and they were able to carry out a detailed assessment which I would absolutely not have had time to do. The ladies who attended were Ali and Dawn, and I feel that they need recognition for their fantastic work. It meant that I was able to go on to my other work and finish my job at a relatively decent time (which I did not expect given the circumstances). I am very grateful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback.

It's wonderful to hear from staff from other teams and we are very glad we could help you and your patient.

Best wishes!
