I have been unwell over the last few years, it started with being unwell with Covid and then having melanoma in my leg which I received excellent care by the dermatology department in Fife. In January 2022 I started feeling unwell with my kidney stones and various different problems. I had several blood test taken and I was told that I had high inflammation markers. I was having issues with swallowing and had a camera into my throat to see what was going on. I then had more tests and assured that my inflammation markers had lowered.
Fast forward 6 months later and still feeling below the pall I then went for more blood tests and found out my folate levels where low and my inflammation markers had actually in the previous and current blood tests been elevated. The nurse practitioner that I spoken to wanted to do more tests and at that point I informed about issues with numbness and pain in my feet and shoulders.
Fast forward 9 weeks and stool tests I was then referred to rheumatology. I am now 13 weeks in and having issues with my hands, lower back and feet, so called rheumatology in Fife to find out when I’d be seen to be told I’m under a general review which is a weekend service and they’ve no idea when the next clinics will be.
I feel thoroughly fed up given two years of deteriorating health, I think I’m soon going to have to get signed off work and I’m so tired having to fight to get someone to help me get my health back on track.
"Unsatisfactory referral"
