I was suffering from depression and anxiety when I first went to Inclusion Matters. I struggled to work on a daily basis and I found it hard to enjoy myself, especially with lots of people around.
My councillor taught me ways of getting myself motivated and relaxation techniques to help with my anxiety. I found breathing exercises and activity schedules very useful. I was taught that I shouldn't be so hard on myself, and that if I took things step by step (at a pace I could cope with) that things gradually start to work out.
Yes, it is hard work and no there is no instant fix, but without my councillor's help I don't know where I would be now.
Inclusion Matters give you the knowledge and support you need to get back to feeling like your old self and being able to smile again. What I went through seemed alien to me, and IM's made me see that what I felt was normal an that lots of people go through it too.
Since having IMs help, I have returned to work, I am keeping on top of my house work, I am enjoying painting again and I am using relaxation techniques that they have taught me whenever I feel anxious. And they have really helped.
I can only say that more sessions would have been an improvement, but for the time I had, I noticed huge improvements.
Thank you, Inclusion Matters x
