"Exceptional care"

About: Children, Young People and Families / Perinatal – Community

(as a relative),

It is of upmost importance I address the exceptional care and support we have received from a wonderful female named Charlotte based at Nottinghamshire Perinatal Mental Health Team. My daughter suffers with a range of complex mental health disabilities and Charlotte has recently finished some extensive work with my daughter to support her needs.

During this Charlotte was indeed compassionate, dedicated and always approached with care. The support received has been by far exceptional. Her knowledge in mental health and great understanding of all individual uniqueness, is truly inspiring. She is immensely professional, committed to her work and also understands how hard the real world has been made for not only the disabled, but parents and carers included.

Charlotte has worked incredibly hard to ensure my daughter and her baby are further supported now and into the future. Our family are truly thankful for all the support Charlotte has given. The service received is rare to find especially in today's society.  Please take note that the Nottinghamshire Perinatal Mental Health Team genuinely understand the importance of supporting parents with mental health. For sure, in our experience, people will never be overlooked when under this service.

Charlotte, all the best for the future and I hope your skills bring you many greater achievements.

Dear KJD17,

thank you so much for your feedback - we love to hear about the experiences of the families that we work with; especially when it is so positive.

I agree that Charlotte is an exceptional Nurse and I am lucky that the Perinatal Team as a whole is really dedicated in their work. We work really hard to keep mums and babies at the centre of what we do and try to work with the individual circumstances of families.

I have already spoken to Charlotte about your comments and it is really rewarding for staff to hear that what they have done has been helpful.

We hope that by reading about the experience of your daughter, more women come forward and ask for help when they are experiencing mental health problems in pregnancy or after a baby is born. We work with a lot of women but we know some people are fearful of asking for that help in case they are judged.

Thank you again for getting in touch with us and we wish you and your family well in the future

Yours Sincerely,

Lisa Carter
