"Thank you to all the staff who were involved in my sons care"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Acute Receiving Unit (Ward 2c)

(as a parent/guardian),

My little boy was admitted to ward 2C after an A&E visit following a suspected bacterial infection. The staff in the ward were very attentive and kind during his stay , the nursing students in particular were extremely helpful and informative.

This was the first time my son had been in hospital , the Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) team , nurses , consultants and students made us feel at ease and kept us informed of my sons plan of care (I really appreciated this) they were great with my son and always tried get him involved in his own care (again something I really appreciated and noticed was clearly a priority for the staff here, which made such a difference)

Thank you to all the staff who were involved in  my sons care , your kindness, care and compassion will not be forgotten!

Dear JennS,

I am sorry to hear your son was unwell and needed to come to the Royal Hospital for Children. I hope he is feeling better now.

I am the Lead Nurse for both the Emergency Department and Ward 2C so I am really pleased to hear this feedback. Keeping our patients involved in their care and keeping them and their families updated is so important to us, so the fact you appreciated this demonstrates why it should continue to be our ethos.

It is great to hear you that you felt everyone was kind, attentive and compassionate. Whilst we don't wish for anyone to come to hospital, it is good to hear this was a good experience for him. I have shared your comments with the teams in our Emergency Department, Ward 2C and the ENT team. We love hearing our patient stories so thank you for taking the time to tell us yours.
