"Appreciated the consideration they gave to treating a toddler"

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a parent/guardian),

I attended Inverclyde Royal Hospital A&E with my little boy last week. He had a high fever and facial swelling that was progressing, as well as chicken pox, he was very unwell and it was an extremely worrying time.

The staff went above and beyond to get my son the care and treatment he needed. I really appreciated the nurses and doctors keeping myself and my husband informed of his plan of care so we were never left in the dark, I also appreciated the consideration they gave to treating a toddler and making him feel at ease, especially when dealing with things like cannulation and taking bloods etc.

He was blue lighted to the Queen Elizabeth and again the care he received by the paramedic team on route to QE was second to none.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in looking after my son, the care and compassion we were given will not be forgotten!

Dear JennS

Thank you for sharing your story.

It must have been such a frightening time for you and your son.

Therefore it was lovely to read that you felt that the service you received from the NHS was excellent.

If you would like me to identify the crew that transferred your wee boy and pass on your thanks may I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care Opinion name, your son's name and the date of the transfer.

I do hope he is better now.

Kindest regards

David
