"My stay on the trauma ward"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I arrived to the trauma ward in Craigavon area hospital on Thursday, I was transferred from the Royal. Everything on the ward has been dead-on with the nurses, the communication with them is really good. I do feel as if the communication with the doctors could be improved as you don't see them as much and I feel as if they don't really have a good relationship with their patients due to the lack of communication.

Unfortunately the surgery I have been waiting to receive has been cancelled a few times and there has been a lot of confusion around that which hasn't been great.

The ward itself is very clean and I have my own room which is good the facilities are also 100%. An improvement that could be made would definitely be with the doctors communication and  the food as it isn't great.

Thank you for posting about your experience in Craigavon Area Hospital we do welcome all feedback to help us improve the service we offer.

I will pass your positive feedback regarding the cleanliness of the ward to the Domestic Services Team.

I am sorry to hear that you not entirely satisfied with the meals provided, patient menus are reviewed regularly and feedback is taken into consideration as part of the review process. I will pass your comments on to the Catering Manager.
