"Medical help was not sought"

About: Nursing / School Nursing

(as a parent/guardian),

The school nurse didn't fully identify my son's needs and medical help was not sought, only was by his father and I taking it up with GP. He was left with a bowel issue that has been psychologically damaging to him.

Dear opinionabdn89,

I am sorry to read that you feel that the school nurse hadn't fully identified your sons need for medical support. I hope that since review with your GP you have received appropriate advice and treatment and his condition has improved. Should you wish further assistance from the school nurse regarding ongoing concern you may have for your son, please email gram.schoolnursing@nhs.scot.

kind regards, Deputy Chief Nurse
