Having had a sick 6-week-old baby for a few days, our daughter took a very quick downward spiral. The out of hours doctor advised us to bring her to A&E without delay. She was seen very quickly.
Having had low oxygen saturation (low 90s) and issues retaining her feeds, she was admitted to the Children's Ward and subsequently recived a positive diagnosis of bronchiolitis as a result on an RSV infection. She was put on oxygen, a drip and feeding tube.
I'll never forget her cries having the tubes put in to her little body, but the calm and gentle manner of the nurses helped to also settle me, the panicking mummy.
I genuinely cannot speak more highly of the team that looked after her. The doctors and entire nursing team explained every step of her care, and made sure we were both comfortable during our stay, which ended up being 11 days.
With life getting in the way in the meantime, I never officially got an opportunity to thank the team involved in her care. I have tried to remember all of the ladies' names - and I hope to have remembered (and correctly spelled) them all. My sincerest thanks go to Martina, Roisin, Karen, Shauna, Zara, Amy, and Aisling. I will never forget your dedication to my baby's care.
