Anything else?
I was recently admitted to hospital via A&E with breathing difficulties. After a short wait at the desk a receptionist appeared and asked for name etc, which I could hardly state because of breathlessness. She asked me to take a seat. I waited 15 minutes for triage - this is far too long. Triage should be immediate so people can be categorized for appropriate waits. However, once I made it through reception I received excellent care in A&E and the resus area. I was transferred to Whiteparish which was clean but shabby. I was horrified to see patients routinely waiting 25 or 30 minutes between ringing the bell and being attended by staff. This often resulted in a complete bed linen change, taking up more staff time and making other patients wait even longer. Staff were clearly under enormous pressure, but still pleasant and professional and kind.
