Firstly, the receptionists were very nice and booked me in for my appointment.
The doctor called me in about 5 minutes later.
I expected a chat before hand about the treatment possibilities but this didn’t happen, the decision of having cryotherapy was made for me, even though the nurse who did my consultation over the phone said a cream would be a possibility.
The chaperone was very nice and did her best to make me feel comfortable.
I would have expected a warning before the cryotherapy took place from the doctor but this didn’t happen, which shocked me as it was very painful.
I then asked if I would need to be booked in again which the dr did but 3 days later, not leaving a week in between treatments. Luckily this was rectified as I was rang after I left the clinic but not to ask when I could attend, but rather a different appt had already been scheduled for me. Luckily I wasn’t working the day of the reschedule.
Overall I felt very vulnerable on my first trip to the clinic for this treatment and didn’t get any aftercare advice or what the treatment involved before I lay on the bed. I would have expected this as a minimum.
"I felt very vulnerable"
