About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was sent as an urgent referral for both endoscopy and colonoscopy. My daughter is autistic and this was something she was refusing to attend. The endoscopy nurse, Carrie, who took care of my daughter (and me!) was absolutely amazing. She was able to take the time to listen to my daughter and understand her needs and concerns. She stayed with my daughter through both the procedures, explaining everything that was happening so that my daughter knew what to expect and provided so much support and care . I don’t think we would have gotten through the scopes without her. My daughter and I are so grateful for Carries kindness, compassion and respect.

I was delighted to hear you and your daughter had such a pleasant experience while attending the Endoscopy Department of Gartnavel General Hospital.

It was lovely to hear how Carrie took the time to listen and understand your daughter's needs and concerns prior to her procedure. This must have been a great relief to you both.

I'm glad Carrie and the team made you both feel comfortable and at ease throughout and showed a compassionate and caring nature.

I will ensure that your praise and thanks are passed on to Carrie and the team who have had such an amazing impact on your experience.
