For me, the groups really helped me so much as not only does it give you something to do, to focus on it also gives you a purpose and helps you discuss with other service users ways of getting through in the early days.
I've been in recovery for over 10 months now and I can honestly say that participating in groups and touching base with my key worker it has enabled me to overcome my drinking.
In the early days Relapse Prevention and Alcohol Groups, really helped, then I went into Women's Group, where we as women helped each other. I'm now training to be a Peer Mentor to help other overcome addictions if you put in the work it can be achieved 100%
I'm living proof!
Thank you ORB
