On the 8th July I was transferred from Loughborough Urgent Care Centre to Glenfield by ambulance, the care from both the above centre & the Paramedics who transported me to Glenfield was calm, reassuring & totally professional in every way. On arrival at Glenfield Hospital I was taken to ward 19 CDU & despite being a very, very busy ward I was treated immediately by the team of Nurses & Doctors, & throughout my 8 hours on this ward I received the most excellent care & I was kept fully aware & reassured of the treatment I was having & why. Later I was taken to ward 28, once again despite the staff being '' rushed off their feet '' the nursing care was excellent, nothing too much trouble, especially having to explain to me repeatedly certain elements of my treatment which I did not understand, no one ever minded doing this for me. During my stay on ward 28 again I was cared for by an excellent team of staff who were so professional. Finally on the day of discharge I was taken to the discharge Lounge, once again an excellent team of Nurses & staff, nothing was too much trouble, & not just for me, but for every patient awaiting discharge & the Nursing team fully explained every prescribed med., what it was for & how to take this successfully & the procedure for the future follow up appointments in O.P. Both my wife & I & everyone waiting were offered refreshments whilst awaiting our meds. from the Pharmacy dept., excellent for the members of staff to find the time to do this despite being so busy. My admission & care from the start at Loughborough Hospital to the EMAS Paramedics & final discharge from the Glenfield Hospital was amazing. Thank you all very much Andrew Turner
