"Birth experience and aftercare"

I had a planned C-section last week and after 5 nights in Daisy Hill Hospital, got home with our perfect little baby last night. Although not a straight forward surgery in my case, all staff from consultant, midwives, health care assistants and cleaners, were amazing and reassured me every step of the way. Staff were all very tuned in to my needs and ensured my pain was controlled as much as possible.

I received particularly good care from Oonagh on the ward who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. She genuinely cared about how I was feeling, how I was healing and respected my dignity at all times even when helping me with personal care. She also made my partner feel comfortable and helped him care for our baby when I was not able due to pain. Oonagh has a great balance between being personable and being professional, and we are forever grateful for the care we received during this special time in our lives.
