I am very grateful that NHS is providing great care for our child. Our child has a severe form of epilepsy and he is doubly incontinent. The parents are separated and the child stays with his mother and then with me, his dad, on weekends. The NHS continence service assesses the child and provides specific continence products according to the specific child needs.
I have humbly requested through official channels to NHS Continence service to provide me (the father of the child) continence products to fulfill his needs for the period he stays with me, but have been informed that for continence products there can only be one order and one delivery set up per child. The NHS continence service refused to provide me with the continence products needed for his basic hygiene. As a disabled child, who is doubly incontinent he needs these for his care on weekends.
I am very disappointed with the refusal to provide me with the continence product needed for a disabled child. In the best interest of the child I am writing to request NHS Glasgow and Clyde higher management and in Scottish Government to very kindly please look into my case and arrange continence products to be delivered to my house so I can look after my lovely child as per his need.
