About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I was recently admitted to the day surgery unit at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline for a knee arthroscopy under general anaesthetic.

I couldn't be more grateful for the excellent standard of care I received every step of the way, from my very first appointment at the orthopaedic surgery clinic to being discharged home after the arthroscopy.

What an incredible team of professionals. I was treated with such kindness and the standard of care was excellent.

A special thank you to Mr Akhtar, Simon, Neil, Carol, Paul, Dawn, Nicolle and Nola for the wonderful job they do. I am so grateful for all they did for me during my admission. My experience of the day surgery unit was so positive and I appreciated how well everything was explained to me every step of the way.

I was discharged home with all the information, medications, dressings and physiotherapy exercises that I need. I know what the next steps in my treatment plan are and I'm pleased to say I am making an excellent recovery at home.
