I attended the community midwives both ante/postnatally at Shantallow and received the highest quality of care. At every appointment I felt I had all the time in the world to discuss my concerns and always felt that they genuinely had mine and my babies best interest at heart.
A special mention to Gillian - who checked on my baby a few weeks before birth just to reassure me but who also carried out my babies heel prick so tenderly and sought help for me on my challenging breastfeeding journey. At a very vulnerable time this help was invaluable and her kindness will stay with me. A word of thanks also to midwifery student Faye- who carried out a trace on baby and who helped out at ante natal appointments- she demonstrated excellent care and professionalism and will be an amazing midwife.
And to midwifery student Gayle who has been such an amazing support with breastfeeding in the early (and very difficult) days. I’ll never forget how I was treated by these ladies and the other midwives at Shantallow. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
