"My life has been transformed"

About: Victoria Hospital / Occupational Therapy Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

After many years of growing discomfort, I became severely debilitated by my left hip. After an initial consultation with Mr Dunstan, I joined the waiting list for treatment at the Victoria Hospital.

The care I received from the team at the ward was outstanding. They explained the procedure and set my mind at ease, pre-operation. In the meantime, the occupational health team ensured I had all the necessary equipment at home to aid my recuperation.

Now, three days post-operation I can already say my life has been transformed. I can stand up straight, both legs are the same length, and my mobility is improving every day. I’m looking forward to getting my life back on track.

One thing I would have liked is a video of the operation.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who cared for me, and want to express my gratitude to the teams involved in every aspect of my treatment.
