"Nothing is done about disabled parking"

About: Victoria Hospital / Emergency Care Ambulatory Service (ECAS)

(as a carer),

Disabled parking full of non-disabled people parking in all of the spaces. Nothing is done about it. It sums up my experience of the thought given to Disabled people in hospitals in fife.

I apologise for your recent experience, there are a limited amount of disabled spaces but it can be extremely frustrating when they are abused and not used correctly.

I will pass on your concerns to the Security team here at the Victoria Hospital and hope if you have to attend again you will have a better experience.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention

Security staff patrol the car parks as frequently as their duties allow and will apply advisory notices to vehicles that are contravening the NHS Fife Car Parking Policy. If they are identified as staff, their Line Managers are notified.

There is also a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) in place that is enforced by Fife Council.

I recognise that this can be a frustrating experience and I'm sorry that this has caused distress.

We are currently reviewing the number and availability of disabled parking spaces which have been problematic during the pandemic due to changes in access to the buildings and compounded by some major construction work that is now nearly complete.
