I phoned ward 206, Transplants, not feeling too great on arrival I was met by the staff and very soon after I had a full set of observations done which showed I was running a temperature and a high pulse, so classic signs of infection, that was closely followed by a full set of bloods and blood cultures.
Then I was shown to my bed space, which was very clean. No sooner there and I had a jug of water and a glass .Once the lab had run my blood I was seen by the on-call reg, who confirmed I had high infection numbers shortly after the night shift nurse put my first bag of IV antibiotics up.
In the morning the day staff were all very nice and soon breakfast was round the wards, followed by the tea trolley with a smiling face delivered me my coffee and asked me if I missed the place that much I had to come back so soon.
But from the porters right through to the surgical team I couldn’t fault my treatment . Also the students on placement always had a word and asking if the could get me anything . Discharge was also fast and effective.
"I couldn’t fault my treatment"
