On admission to ward 40 I was greeted by Sister Michaela and her team who organised a tea at very short notice, thank goodness. I was admitted into their care for the next 3 days.
I would like to thank Dr Rizeq, Dr Coyle, Dr Kevin and Valerie for getting me diagnosed and started on treatment so quickly and efficiently and for answering all my questions as things progressed. Thanks also to Dr Jill for explaining my scan results and diagnosis before discharge. The two doctors who put my IV line in, sorry I was that patient with bad veins.
What can I say about this fabulous group of people who offered re-assurance and comfort to a very anxious patient. I can probably say a lot, and it is all good. I do not remember all your names but that does not make you any less important in this acknowledgment of your care. (I have cataracts and the badges are too small).
From John who keeps an orderly house with good humour, Support Services Wilma who keeps a very clean ward, this lady cleans like it's her own house. Nursing Assistant Dolores on night duty, Staff Nurse Aoife day duty. Support services - kitchen staff for all your kindness. Physiotherapist Erin who helped me so much with good advice. Thanks also to Moira Physiotherapy. Pharmacist with advice on drugs. Many thanks to Portering services for carting me about with the craic! Radiology staff in MRI and CT were quick efficient and courteous as always.
It is important to acknowledge when the system works well, despite the pressures these people work under, day in day out. You are a great team and I am thankful to all of you for your care.
"A fabulous group of people"
