I went to A & E on Monday morning 13th February, I went in early and by mid-morning the waiting room was full. I must admit I was apprehensive as the Trust's social media accounts tells us regularly about the big numbers in attendance.
I had all investigations carried out in good time under the instructions of Dr in A & E (sorry I cannot remember any names) and his colleague Dr Coyle from Neurology. From the reception staff, triage nurse, nursing assistant who done my bloods and ECG, the staff nurse who done the covid swab before admission, the radiographers, the porters who carted me about with a bit of craic thrown in for good measure which is so important. I felt well looked after.
I was happy to wait however long it took as I could see this team of people were well organised and efficient. Despite their unremitting workload they maintained a professional, courteous, attitude. It must be very disheartening to look out at the waiting area to know that the seats fill up as soon as they empty and then the floor space as well, the numbers attending are so high. When are these people ever going to get the recognition they deserve from our government? With many thanks to all of you for your care.
