"Picking up my script"

About: Inclusion Recovery Hampshire / Winchester

(as the patient),

When I first got on a script, I was supervised before moving to a 3 day pick up cycle then I took a test and it was negative for Heroin and Methadone when I was actually taking my prescribed medication and had used Heroin.  I was knocked back down to daily pick up and had to prove I was still taking my Methadone.  This left me feeling really angry.

Thankfully I am now back to pick up 3 days per week.

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I am sorry that you were left feeling angry after being placed on daily pick up of your prescription. When we prescribe methadone we are required to follow strict prescribing guidelines one of which is to test whether methadone is in your system when it is being prescribed to you. Your prescriber will then decide how best to support you in your treatment ensuring that you are being prescribed safely.

I am pleased to hear that you are back on your usual pick up regime and wish you all the best in your recovery.
