I had an emergency caesarean section at the Jessop wing in Sheffield. The care I received whilst in labour prior to the surgery by the midwives and all staff during surgery was exceptional. I felt safe, well supported and cared for throughout.
I could tell the staff at the emergency admissions unit were very busy. However, they treated me efficiency, providing dignity and care showing a high level of skills. I felt safe and reassured during my time in labour and surgery.
My experience of being cared for on the ward after the c section was also great. The ward was well staffed I felt cared for. When I used the call bell someone came straight away.
I felt well supported with breast feeding and they put me in contact with the infant feeding support workers who visited me.
I was discharged after 48 hours and felt confident about being discharged. The discharge process was efficient and I came home with everything I needed.
I cannot thank them enough, the care I received was excellent.
Thank you
"I felt safe, well supported and cared for throughout."
