About: Girvan Community Hospital

(as a relative),

I was in visiting my poorly father-in-law in Girvan Hospital at the weekend. There were 5-6 visitors. We asked the staff nurse if the canteen was open at the weekend for visitors, and he stated no. We went along to the canteen anyway for a walk and were met by the kindest chef. She had no hot food to offer us, however offered to make us a round of sandwiches and made us all coffee. I don't know her name, but she really reinforces how wonderful and caring NHS staff are in all departments. She could have easily said no sorry the canteen is not open to visitors at the weekend. Thank you so much for her kindness.

Dear PM51

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback following your recent visit to Girvan Hospital

I am so pleased to hear that one of our chef’s was able to provide you with something to eat at the canteen while you were there visiting your father-in-law. Your kind words will be passed to the catering department to share your kind words and to give recognition for their exemplary care

Thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela

Dear PM51,

Apologies for the delay in response this was due to annual leave. My name is Karen Wilson and I am the Clinical Nurse Manager responsible for the Davidson Ward within the Girvan Community Hospital. Firstly I'm sorry to hear that your father in law was poorly and my thoughts are with your family. I am very grateful that in your time of distress you took the time to single out our caring catering staff. The staff in Girvan all have a family focused approach to all aspects of their care and treatment. I will be sure to share your kindness with the staff involved and their catering supervisor.

Many thanks again for sharing your experience with us.

Kind regards

Karen
